What do we know about MRSA

Many people do not know much about MRSA(methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus). I confess that I did not know anything about MRSA until it caught my attention when it was reported on a recent Newscast.

An article from the Mayo clinic stated "..Several antibiotics continue to be effective against MRSA in the community, but this type of MRSA is a newly evolved bacterium, and it may be a matter of time before some community associated strains become resistant to most antibiotics."

This can be frightening given the fact that many people have died recently because of this MRSA problem.

What can you do to protect against MRSA infection? Get more iformation about it!

James Steckelberg, M.D., an infectious disease specialist at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., answers these and other common questions about MRSA. I recommend reading the entire article at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mrsa/ID00049.

Some interesting information on dealing with this problem can also been located at http://superimmune.org/jelen.

The many articles on the internet paints a challenging task to curb and prevent such diseases as MRSA and related microbial diseases.
